10 Mag : Another installment from fabulous 10 fashion intern, Dolly Farrier!

As everyone had gone to Paris for the next round of fashion shows, Dolly Farrier was starting to wish the economy was getting better as her work placement was bordering on illegal .

One day, just one day she will get her big break and she will get an assistant of her own …

“Dolly Farrier!”

She got up as soon as she heard her name.

“Yes!”

“….Get that Dolly!… Paris!… Shoot!… bring clothes immediately, and my CHANEL bag, I forgot it!!”

It was Sophia on the phone to the gorgeous Richard, it was all starting to sound exciting!

Out of the office never felt so good! Even on public transport.

Except London transport was taking its toll , as was the shear amount of clothes she had to collect for the shoot.

“Just get to the Eurostar in time”, she heard ringing in her head, “the photographer will meet you on the train… don’t be late!”

The train was on time, Dolly Blue took her chances.

“Just one giant step… I will get on that train!! I will make myself into a fashion star!”

“Hold on… NO!… the train’s pulling away!”

She suddenly became aware of Sophia’s Chanel bag getting caught and the fashion luggage spilling out!

“Nooooooooooooo!!!! It can’t be happening… I must save the Chanel or I’ve really had it!”

“Someone help me! This can’t be happening, someone stop the train!”

Even upside down, Dolly Farrier noted that with the hierachy of photographer/ assistant, there was no help to be had.

“Dreadful!… Ahhhh!”

PLONK! The fall was gracious and still the bag’s in sight.

“Ah fluck! I’ve had it… the train’s gone!”

Dolly Farrier casually waved goodbye to the photographer and also her internship.

Pleased she hadn’t got caught under the train, she decided that in true fashion style she would leave the clothes behind and just focus on the Chanel.

On the railway bank, happy to have the Chanel in one piece, Dolly Farrier had to make the dreaded call to Ten Towers.

Meanwhile, over in Paris, Sophia was putting the finishing touches to the first outfit. She hadn’t yet realised that there will be ABSOLUTELY NO more outfits to shoot… Oh, Dolly!

In the boardroom of Ten Towers, the Editor-in-Chief was discussing some ideas lost in the bottom of her Chanel handbag, whilst Fashion Assistant Dolly Farrier was busy writing notes with her fabulous sister Dolly Marshall, who was busy sketching creative ideas.

“I’m thinking Alpine Switzerland / Chalet / Indoor, but with a twist. You know, not Blue / Ice / Cold, think more: Pink / Drape / Shine.” said the Editor in Chief.

“It’s in here somewhere… the fabric I found for the look, cut from an old couture number. Just dust off the crumbs… Here it is! Perfect! Let me show you how to drape a look…”

“I’m thinking yards and yards of silk, ribbons, chiffon, twisted, puffed, yet elegant edge on the first look… There is nothing quite like it. I’M SIMPLY PIONEERING.

Designers will use this,without question for next season’s research. I LOVE IT. Now take it to the shoot, Dolly Farrier. Keep it Perfect and DON’T CHANGE my masterpiece!

“I need to trust you as I have appointments I must attend, and so the shoot needs to happen without me. Can I trust you, Dolly Farrier?”

It was a big day for Dolly Farrier, after last week’s fiasco on the bus, she was sure not going to take any more chances…

The Alpine shoot was in full swing when she turned up. She was glad to have got there in time just as the photographer seemed to have his own rather literal ideas about the clothes…

”I’ve been told the shoot must be ‘Pink, drape, shine…’ She’s created this and I just need to pop it on you see, it’s really quite easy and straight forward. Think couture!”

Dolly Farrier was surprised to see two models when the creation was only meant for one… but no matter, it was her chance to shine as an up-and-coming stylist!

The photographer expressed his concern with both models being draped in the creation…

BUT Dolly Farrier was determined to prove herself right – whatever it took, however long , the creation wlll go on!

Meanwhile, back in Ten Towers, after an endless round of press appointments, the Editor-in-Chief was wondering if anyone had heard how the Alipne shoot was coming along…

In the heady heights of Ten Towers, Dolly Farrier was working hard for a bit of inspiration for the September issue of Ten…

One day, one day, one day, I will make it out of the Towers and go on location somewhere. Inspire a generation…

Just finish this layout then I will tidy that cupboard. I will, I will tidy that cupboard and do the returns before they get back from the menswear shows…. I will, I will. Just finish writing my shopping list first maybe…

OMG! A phone call for little ol’ me right here in Ten Towers, for me?!? “Hello!.. Oooooh a shoot ? Can I prep a shoot? You say. Assistant stylist? Me? “big break?” Oh, I need to tidy up the fashion cupboard first? Then I can go? Really? Me?

Let me just check to see if I did do it.

OMG! I sooooo didn’t bother to tidy that fashion cupboard yesterday… I knew I should have, but, you know, Wimbledon was on and….

Ok Ok… tidy, tidy, tidy up. Oh! Tidy up OR cover up? Yes cover! Why not… big break big break. Will look like I did the cupboard.

Just use this to cover it ALL up. No one will ever know…

Just a bit more…Oooooh get in there Mr. Hermes bag…

Just a little bit more… DONE!

Quick, quick, quick! …off off off to prep a shoot… How lucky am I? Ooh bit heavy, and public transport only, they said…

Up the hill, oooh don’t think I will make it in time, but it’s ok, the clothes will make up for it.

jacky was taking miss MJB for a walk under her arm .’OMG a hermes store is now open in my appartment block i just LOVE living in Soho . . ‘ just a quick look …got sooo many sketches to do today! …

ooooh i love… modular furniture for the appartment Brodie . what a fucking great idea! .. it will make me design SO much better

imagine brodie ..we can spend more time together , i can design with my feet up .AND it matches my orange penguin drawing pencil and sketch books

you know what MJB , this HERMES stand and mannequin would help me drape all those much needed jerseys and commercial dresses just sooo much better .And you could help me too . We could do it together….oh i love you Brodie .love love love .. We such a great team .Hurry up ..Lets buy it .
